Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is a Mexican musician who was born into a musical family. She grew up listening mostly to traditional music, boleros from the past, as well as traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana is a fan of tangos, as well as the dramatic and opera performances. Ana began learning and singing songs with her mother then began more intense singing training when she was 16 with renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio Becerra. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterwards at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. While a student, and when she was a professional young within Mexico City and Guadalajara she performed with various chamber groups and choruses. She sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to Southern California. She performs solo Latin American music for private occasions and is a part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. Her love and passion for music, art, and performing keeps her involved in many local projects as a performer and teacher. Ana has been a member of Community Chorus of Redlands (as well being a member of the Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana is thankful for having the chance to share her love and enthusiasm for old-fashioned Latin American songs with others, and in doing so hopes to inspire a passion, especially among younger generations to keep this music vibrant and alive.Viva Mexico!
