Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. When she moved to Oxfordshire when she was five, she enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma's goal was to be an actor. At the age of 6she was enrolled into the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch, where she took classes in acting, singing as well as dancing. At the age of 10, she had already taken part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. In 1999 casting began for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Casting agents discovered Emma via her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having 8 consecutive auditions. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's first cinematic screen appearance. This film was 2001's highest grossing film, breaking records on opening day and the very first weekend. The film was praised by critics and the performances of the three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, an important British publication, described Emma's performance "amazing". Emma's performance was recognized and was awarded five awards for the film.
